Visit by Greater Paris Region President Valérie Pécresse [fr]
Greater Paris Region President Valérie Pécresse was in Singapore on 10th of February to discuss potential areas of cooperation with the city-state in various sectors such as sustainable cities, innovation, investment and tourism. Mrs. Pecresse met with the Singapore / MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) team and attended a drivelerss vehicle demonstration and a presentation of the Future Mobility Sensing technology. She also met with Professor Lim Khiang Wee, CREATE Executive Director at the National Research Foundation, to discuss the Smart Nation strategy and with the CNRS team in Singapore who is currently working on the use of new technologies to support aging population.
Mrs. Pécresse and her delegation also met with Singaporean investors and business stakeholders during a lunch organized by the French Embassy on the theme of Paris region attractiveness and its major projects. During her visit, she attended a presentation of Dassault Systèmes’ "Virtual Singapore" project, a Singapore 3D modeling project conducted in partnership with the National Research Foundation. She called on Minister for Trade and Industry S Iswaran. The meeting was an opportunity to highlight Paris region attractiveness and to exchange ideas on innovation, a theme at the heart of the Committee on the Future Economy’s latest report.
