First edition of the Singapore-France Economic Forum [fr]
The first Singapore-France Economic Forum - also known as the « Rencontres économiques in Singapore » - was held in Singapore on 24th and 25th November on the ESSEC campus premises.
Jointly organised by ESSEC Business School, the Economic Society of Singapore, Paris Europlace and the Cercle des économistes with the support of the French Embassy, this forum gathered prominent economists, decision makers and business leaders to debate economic current affairs.
Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam, guest-of-honor of this key moment of the French Singaporean economic dialogue, delivered the opening address. Several discussion panels on varied economic topics such as future of finance, monetary policy, innovation and regional integration took place during two intense and fruitful days of debates.
Former Prime Minister Enrico Letta and Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy’s Dean Kishore Mahbubani discussed the impact of the american election on Europe and Asia. French Ambassador Benjamin Dubertret took also part in a discussion panel on the importance of innovation for the future growth.
