Panel Discussion - Global Governance: Finding Solutions to Revive and Improve Multilateralism
On Thursday 22 November, a panel discussion on global governance and the Paris Peace Forum’s outcomes will be held at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy with Prof.Tommy Koh, French Ambassador Marc Abensour, Dr. Yeo Lay Hwee and Mr. Assaad Razzouk.
As we commemorate the end of World War I, international cooperation is slowing down. States are competing hard for advantage and populism is undermining global governance. In such uncertain times, the first Paris Peace Forum (11-13 November) inspired by the COP21 model is set to become the annual rendezvous for ideas and initiatives on global governance that help minimize international tensions.
The Panel Discussion will be an opportunity to detail the Forum’s operational conclusions. As a Guest-of-Honor, Professor Tommy Koh will share his views and experience to stand up for a rules-based order and a multilateral system. Ambassador Marc Abensour will present the Forum’s main conclusions and elaborate on its key deliverables. Dr Yeo Lay Hwee will discuss further EU-ASEAN cooperation to tackle pressing and emerging challenges. Mr Assaad Razzouk whose company’s project was showcased at the Forum will share his thoughts on climate change governance.
