Message from the Ambassador

Dear readers,

While the international community is facing a growing number of challenges, the first of which being terrorism, which has once again struck our country this summer, it has also achieved a historic success with the entry into force of Paris Agreement on the fight against climate change by the end of the year. We warmly welcome Singapore’s commitment to this development.

Various events taking place in the coming weeks will be a new opportunity to demonstrate the diversity and creativity of France in Singapore a few months after the launch of "Creative France", a campaign showcasing French innovation.

Amongst these events, the French contemporary artworks exhibition until February 2017 at the National Museum of Singapore and the French Film Festival from 10 to 20 November will contribute to Singapore’s vibrant cultural scene.

On the economic side, the first “Rencontres économiques in Singapore” (November 24-25) will gather several economists, policy makers and business leaders to debate economic current situation, while the Offshore South East Asia Conference and Exhibition 2016 will host a French pavilion.

I look forward to meeting many of you at our upcoming events and I wish you a nice autumn.

Benjamin Dubertret
Ambassador of France to Singapore
