MHA Deputy Secretary Raja Kumar awarded National Order of Merit [fr]
In recognition of his strong dedication to enhancing and developing the relationship between France and Singapore in the field of security, Ministry of Home Affairs Deputy Secretary and Home Team Academy Chief Executive Raja Kumar was conferred the insignia of Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Mérite (Knight in the National Order of Merit) by French Ambassador Marc Abensour, during a ceremony held at the French Residence on 4th October.
The National Order of Merit, one of France’s highest distinctions, was created by General Charles de Gaulle in 1963 to reward “distinguished merits”, whether military or civilian. This Order honours personalities from France as well as from any country in the world.
With this decoration, France wishes to acknowledge the invaluable contribution Mr. Raja Kumar made to fostering the bilateral cooperation between France and Singapore in the sensitive field of the fight against transnational organized crime and more accurately the financial crime. As Senior Deputy Secretary, in charge of international and strategic matters and at the helm of the Home Team Academyat the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr Kumar has facilitated the technical cooperation between our two countries.
