Innovation Circle on "Ageing: Creating a Suitable & Adaptive Environment" [fr]
On 23rd November, the French Embassy organized a France-Singapore Innovation Circle seminar on "Ageing: Creating a Suitable & Adaptive Environment".
The France-Singapore Innovation Circle is an initiative by the French Embassy to provide a platform for interaction, sharing and exchanges between key stakeholders from Singapore and France such as academics, businesses and the relevant government agencies.
French Ambassador Marc Abensour opened the Innovation Circle attended by over 80 scientists, researchers and professionals.Three keynote speakers were invited to talk about ageing and more specifically about how to design and build a suitable and adaptive environment for elderly people.
- Ministry of Health (MOH) Deputy Director of International Cooperation Ms. Yeo Wen Qing gave an overview of the general policy of MOH for helping elderly to successfully age and presetend the Action Plan for Successful Ageing at the invidual, community and city levels.
- Pacific Healthcare Holdings General Manager Mr. Kelvin Ng presented the senior activity centres, a place where seniors can meet and develop new social interactions.
- IPAL Director Dr. Mounir Mohktari talked about the research done in IPAL, a French-Singaporean joint lab based in Singapore, on the design of Smart Homes with multiple non-invasive devices to track seniors activity and improve their well-being.
The three presentations were followed by a Q&A session.
