Highlight on the French cinema at The Projector with the Institut Français [fr]
On the 1st of March, the Institut français, the French Embassy in Singapore and The Projector signed a partnership agreement to promote French cinema in Singapore.
Therefore The Projector joins the network of partners built by the Instituts français and the Departments for Culture, Education and Science of the French Embassies.
This partnership is in line with the global approach of the Institut Français’ Department for Cinema, which is involved in the promotion and sharing of French cinema abroad through the global network of over 300 Alliances and Instituts français. It aims also at developing ties with local cinemas, by supporting the programmers and curators of Festivals.
The Projector will enjoy the access to the collections of the Institut français and the African Film Library, in order to propose a broad and diverse selection, including documentaries, animated films and thematic series.
This cultural cooperation agreement with The Projector is a trial project in the region and is meant to pave the way the way to similar collaborations in other countries. Some Cinema events can be organized for premiere screenings, first films cycles or thematic sessions.
