Diplomatic Charity Bazaar 2015
To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Republic of Singapore, the Diplomatic and Consular Missions accredited to the Republic of Singapore with the support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore will be organizing the SG50 Diplomatic Charity Bazaar on October 24th at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore.
The French Embassy in Singapore will be joining 43 other Diplomatic and Consular Missions in the name of charity. The SG50 Diplomatic Charity Bazaar 2015 is headed by the Dean of the Diplomatic & Consular Corps in Singapore, the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, H.E. Luis Fernando de Andrade Serra and supported by the Working Group which comprises the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore, the High Commissioner of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Singapore and the Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to Singapore. Net proceeds will be donated to designated charity organizations in Singapore, such as The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund and Singapore Children’s Society.
Guest-of-Honour, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, H.E. Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, and special guest, the Minister of Law and Minister for Home Affairs, H.E. K. Shanmugam will grace the event together with the Heads and Representatives of the participating Diplomatic and Consular Missions.
Participating countries will display their finest and distinctive local products, such as Colombia’s finest coffee, Swiss’ chocolatier and cheese, Indonesia’s traditional batik, Mexico’s beer, Norway’s seafood, Thailand’s handicrafts and many more. Cultural performances will also be presented on stage during the event, including: Tahiti Dance (France), Greek DanSING (Greece), Yoga demonstration (India), Panyembrama Dance (Indonesia), Champa Mouang Lao (Lao), Joget Hati Senang Dance (Malaysia), Kalagedi (Pot) Dance (Sri Lanka), to name a few.
