Calendar of key events [fr]
A range of events under the sectors have been identified as platforms to promote thought leadership, research and initiatives, as well as partnerships and the exchange of ideas to address the challenges and opportunities facing our world today. These events will be hosted in France and Singapore throughout 2018. The schedule of the France-Singapore Year of Innovation key events are below:

|21-26 Jan 2018||Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS)|
In its sixth run in 2018, the five-day Global Young Scientists Summit, organised by the National Research Foundation, provides the opportunity for young scientists aged 35 and below from all over the world, including France and Singapore, to interact with their research heroes. These include Nobel laureates and winners of other prestigious awards such as the Fields Medal for mathematics, Millenium Technology Prize for ground-breaking innovations, and the Turing Award for the computing sector.

As the largest aerospace and defence exhibition in Asia, the Singapore Airshow 2018—held biennially—provides a strategic platform for regulators, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and stakeholders to drive changes in and shape the future of the global aviation industry. The 2018 edition will feature initiatives designed to inspire tomorrow’s innovations, including the Emerging Technologies and Innovation Business Forum, and the inaugural What’s Next Start-up Showcase. France-Singapore cooperation in the field of aviation will be showcased. Visitors can also look forward to a range of exciting activities including static aircraft on display and aerobatic flying displays.

This seminar, held during the mathematics week, will be an opportunity for researchers and professionals in the field of education to discuss about the new trends in the teaching of mathematics, with a particular emphasis on the “Singapore method” for elementary schools.

This three-day seminar jointly organised by France’s Ministry of Culture and Singapore’s Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth aims to deepen bilateral exchanges and encourage thought leadership in the domain of culture. It gathers major cultural institutions, policy-makers, and practitioners from France and Singapore to discuss new trends and innovations in the arts and culture sector with a focus on audience development.

Organized by the Embassy of France and Institut Francais Singapour in collaboration with French and Singaporean partners, Voilah! 2018 seeks to highlight French cultural innovation. From delectable French cuisine and enthralling art performances to thought-provoking exhibitions and film screenings, the festival provides an immersive and accessible festival experience with something for everyone.

VivaTechnology is the global leading innovation event in France. The three-day festival aims to convene 68,000 attendees, 6,000 start-ups and 500 speakers from innovative industries. Jointly organised by Business France and the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, the France Singapore ICT Awards gathers an international audience of more than 200 C-level decision makers from various industries such as ICT, Telco, Government, Bank & Finance, will honour French and Singaporean companies that have achieved outstanding innovations. Each startup will be invited to pitch their ideas in front of a panel of experts from Singtel, Starhub, Mediacorp, IE, Microsoft, Google.

The Singapore Week of Innovation & TeCHnology (SWITCH), held annually in September alongside the Singapore Grand Prix, is a leading “plug and play” platform in Asia that showcases the best ideas, technology and innovation from around the world. Organised by the National Research Foundation and SGInnovate, it convenes the best in the world in technology, innovation and enterprise development to participate in exhibitions, conferences, workshops and activities.
At SWITCH, interactions are the catalyst for change—this is where great minds meet and work together to shape our future. Topics of discussion at the event include open innovation and technology transfer, technopreneurship, and venture funding and talent development.

This will be the fourth run of the BPIFrance Inno Generation (BIG). The 2017 edition, with the theme of "Transformation in all its Form," saw more than 30,000 participants, 70 international experts and 180 workshops and conferences showcasing both innovative enterprises, as well as traditional enterprises that are in the process of evolution. There were also focused events on China, such as "key sectors in China from the perspective of a VC," "Doing business in Asia, in particular in China" and "Social Media in China for Dummies."

|Dec 2018||2nd France-Singapore Economic Forum or Les Rencontres Economiques|
The first edition of the Les Rencontres Economiques, held in Singapore in November 2016, convened distinguished speakers such as Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Director of Centennial Group International Manu Bhaskaran, Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Kishore Mahbubani, and former Prime Minister of Italy Enrico Letta. The second edition of Les Rencontres Economiques would provide a platform for Singaporean and French speakers to discuss YOI’s takeaways amidst other pressing economic-related issues.
