A range of events under the sectors have been identified as platforms to promote thought leadership, research and initiatives, as well as partnerships and the exchange of ideas to address the challenges and opportunities facing our world today. These events will be hosted in France and Singapore throughout 2018. The schedule of the France-Singapore Year of Innovation key events is below:

In its sixth run in 2018, the five-day Global Young Scientists Summit, organised by the National Research Foundation, provides the opportunity for young scientists aged 35 and below from all over the world, including France and Singapore, to interact with their research heroes. These include Nobel laureates and winners of other prestigious awards such as the Fields Medal for mathematics, Millenium Technology Prize for ground-breaking innovations, and the Turing Award for the computing sector.

As the largest aerospace and defence exhibition in Asia, the Singapore Airshow 2018—held biennially—provides a strategic platform for regulators, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and stakeholders to drive changes in and shape the future of the global aviation industry. The 2018 edition will feature initiatives designed to inspire tomorrow’s innovations, including the Emerging Technologies and Innovation Business Forum, and the inaugural What’s Next Start-up Showcase. France-Singapore cooperation in the field of aviation will be showcased. Live with AI is a non-profit foundation which gathers French Singaporean thought leaders, decision-makers, and international researchers to lead working groups and research projects on the positive impacts of artificial intelligence to our society. The Live with AI community takes advantage of a presence at the heart of the South-East Asia region and an access to several research laboratories to issue recommendations which can be immediately applied and tested among very diverse communities looking for technology disruption. On the occasion of the 2018, France-Singapore Year of Innovation initiative, and in partnership with ESSEC Business School, LWAI will organise several events involving experts in different society debates to discuss AI opportunities.
The first event will take place on the 12th of March in ESSEC and will focus on the health and longevity topic: How to live better and longer with AI. This seminar, held during the mathematics week, will be an opportunity for researchers and professionals in the field of education to discuss about the new trends in the teaching of mathematics, with a particular emphasis on the “Singapore method” for elementary schools.

APM is Asia’s largest Maritime and Offshore exhibition in 2018. Taking place every even year, the Maritime and Offshore industry converge at APM, turning every moment into an opportunity, transforming three days of meetings into deals and networking events into ground-breaking partnerships. Around 15 French companies led by Business France will be exhibiting on the France Pavilion. A "France-Singapore Innovation Circle" seminar on maritime industry and innovation will be hosted at the Embassy of France on 13th March. The France-Singapore Innovation Circle is an initiative by the French Embassy to provide a platform for interaction, sharing and exchanges between key stakeholders from Singapore and France such as academics, businesses and the relevant government agencies.

The annual Pint of Science festival in the month of May allows researchers across multiple disciplines to engage with the public in an accessible and comfortable place and time, such as over drink in an evening at the pub or similar venue. Existing since 2014 in France, Singapore organises its first edition in 2018! During three days, the Pint of Science festival will see thousands of scientists simultaneously standing up and telling the public about their discoveries across 19 countries. Among the 22 expected evening in Singapore, three of them will focus on the research involving both France and Singapore research institutes.

With the promotion of science communications by both science students and scientists in the field, the Challenge is organized by A*STAR’s OSCAR and ESSEC Business School, and judged by Dr. Abhi Veerakumarasivam, winner of FameLab International 2016.
This fast-paced science communications competition draws inspiration from the Three Minute Thesis and FameLab competitions and aims to spark meaningful discussions on science and technology in our society. Tertiary students and A*STAR researchers will be challenged to present their Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) topics in 180 seconds and in a lay language easily understood by non-technical audiences.

This will be the fourth run of the BPIFrance Inno Generation (BIG). The 2017 edition, with the theme of "Transformation in all its Form," saw more than 30,000 participants, 70 international experts and 180 workshops and conferences showcasing both innovative enterprises, as well as traditional enterprises that are in the process of evolution. There were also focused events on China, such as "key sectors in China from the perspective of a VC," "Doing business in Asia, in particular in China" and "Social Media in China for Dummies."

Jointly organized by the French Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) and Duke-NUS Medical School of Singapore through the WIN initiative, the conference will serve as a forum for addressing the progress, research gaps and priorities for the control of vectors of emerging arboviruses (Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya) and the management of insecticide resistance.
The conference will facilitate the involvement of scientists, stakeholders, members of the private and public sectors, and decision makers from around the world to provide practical and operational recommendations for the improvement of insecticide resistance surveillance and deployment of innovative vector control tools.
