19th MINDEF-France Ministry of the Armed Forces Defence Policy Dialogue (DPD) on 1 July 2021 [fr]

France welcomed the 19th MINDEF-France Ministry of the Armed Forces Defence Policy Dialogue (DPD) on 1 July 2021 in Paris. This dialogue is co-chaired by Permanent Secretary for Defence Mr Chan Heng Kee and French Director General for International Relations and Strategy Mrs Alice Guitton.

The 19th MINDEF-France Ministry of the Armed Forces Defence Policy Dialogue (DPD) was held on 1 July 2021 in Paris. Co-chaired by Permanent Secretary for Defence Mr Chan Heng Kee and French Director General for International Relations and Strategy Mrs Alice Guitto, the DPD is a forum for both countries to exchange views on strategic issues of mutual interest and discuss ways to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation.

During the DPD, the two co-chairs shared their visions on the Indo-Pacific region, espeically in Southeast-Asia, reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to continue collaboration in various areas, including defence technology and defence policy exchanges, and to expand cooperation in cybersecurity, countering hybrid threats, and climate change. They also exchanged views on both countries’ geopolitical preoccupations and strategic outlooks.

The DPD underscores the strong and broad-based defence relationship between Singapore and France.
